My Personal Journey

This section is a space for me to reflect on the personal side of growth — not just professionally, but in how I look after myself along the way.

Since April, I’ve been using 32Co to straighten my teeth through their clear aligner programme, and more recently, I started using Sons to help manage and improve my hair health. These are just two examples of how I’m investing in myself — in confidence, wellbeing, and long-term self-care.

As someone who spends most of the day managing others’ care, this is my way of flipping the lens and sharing the things I’m doing for myself. I’ll also be using this space to talk about other personal experiences, products, platforms, and changes I try — with honesty, curiosity, and a bit of reflection along the way.

A Quick Note on Transparency

Everything I share here is based on my own personal experiences — as a user, not in a professional or promotional capacity. I’m not affiliated with 32Co, Sons, or any other companies mentioned, and I’m not being paid or sponsored to talk about them (unless clearly stated).

This is simply a space to talk honestly about what I’m trying, how it’s going, and what I’m learning in the process — all with the hope that it might resonate with or help someone else on their own journey.

Thanks for following along — and for being part of mine.

Starting with 32Co – Why I Decided to Straighten My Teeth

I’ve been thinking about straightening my teeth for quite some time. Not because I disliked my smile — but because I knew it could be better, and I wanted to finally take that step for myself. Working in dental practices, I often talk to patients about aesthetics, confidence, and long-term oral health. But like many people in healthcare, I hadn’t prioritised myself.

That changed in April, when I began my clear aligner journey with 32Co — a dentist-led platform designed to deliver convenience, clinical oversight, and a streamlined digital experience. It stood out for its clarity and structure, which was important to me given how busy work can get.

My journey began at Dentartistry, where Dr Thanu, our Principal Dentist, carried out the iTero scan to map out my teeth. As always, she was incredibly thorough — and having someone I trust handle the clinical side made all the difference. She also completed IPR (interproximal reduction) as part of the treatment setup, ensuring my teeth would have the space they needed to move effectively.

Once the scan was uploaded, the 32Co team shared a fully digital treatment plan. Their communication was excellent — clear, responsive, and easy to understand. I was able to review a step-by-step breakdown of what the treatment would involve, and once I confirmed everything looked good, the aligners were delivered and I got started.

A few months in, I’ve already started noticing the early changes, and it’s been easier to adapt than I expected. Wearing the aligners daily has become routine, and it’s given me a whole new perspective on what our patients go through. It's been encouraging, empowering, and even a little eye-opening — especially now that I can speak from genuine experience when talking about aligners at work.

This journey is still unfolding, but I’ll continue to share honest updates — including the small challenges, unexpected wins, and what I learn along the way.

Here’s a visual snapshot of the journey:

Step 0 of 16 – Starting Position

This was the scan taken at the start — my teeth had a fair amount of crowding, particularly on the lower arch, and some minor rotation.

Step 16 of 16 – Final Predicted Outcome

The final outcome shows much better alignment, especially across the front six teeth. It’s subtle but impactful — and exactly what I was hoping to achieve.

Starting with Sons – Taking Charge of Hair Health

If you know me, you know I care about staying sharp — not just in my work, but in how I carry myself. Over the past year, I started to notice some changes in my hair — subtle, but enough to get me thinking. Like many people, I put it off at first. Told myself it was probably stress, routine, or just something I’d deal with later.

But the truth is, the longer I waited, the more it played on my mind.

So this week, I decided to take action and start my journey with Sons, a platform designed to help men tackle hair loss proactively, with medically backed solutions and personalised support. What I liked straight away was how simple they made it. The process was clear, confidential, and easy to get started — no awkward conversations or drawn-out appointments. Just an honest, straightforward way to get support.

I completed their online consultation, answered a few health questions, and was recommended a treatment plan tailored to my needs. I appreciated that there was no pressure — just clear information, guidance, and the ability to decide in my own time. Once I placed the order, the medication was delivered discreetly and quickly.

It’s still early days — literally Day 1 — but there’s something really empowering about taking control, even if the results take time. Much like my aligner journey with 32Co, this isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s about confidence, routine, and knowing I’ve made a decision to invest in myself.

I’ll be using this space to document my progress: how I find the treatment, how I build it into my routine, and how it feels mentally to finally do something about it. No gimmicks, no filters — just honest reflections from someone who, like many others, waited longer than he probably should have.
